There are various fuel-saving technologies for "consumption reduction and emission reduction" of marine diesel engines. 5. Accuracy of valve timing.
6. Internal environment of diesel engine, such as carbon deposition.
The above factors will directly affect the fuel consumption of diesel engine. For example, poor atomization and dripping of the fuel injector, incomplete fuel combustion and direct discharge, resulting in black smoke of the fuel of the machine. Another example is the internal environment of the diesel engine. If the machine is not maintained on schedule for a long time, there will be serious carbon deposits in the piston ring groove, air valve, cylinder wall, airway, etc., which will seriously affect the normal operation of the machine and greatly increase the consumption of fuel and oil. If the plunger is worn and leaks oil, it will also affect the atomization of the fuel injector. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out regular maintenance on the machine, check the sealing and smoothness of the cylinder and air inlet and exhaust duct, check the operation of various components of the fuel injection system, adjust the parameters that do not meet the use requirements, and repair, correct or update the parts that do not meet the use requirements.

Due to the existence of a large number of particles and suspected agglomerates in the heavy oil itself, the heavy oil fuels used in marine diesel engines are mainly 180CST, 380cst and 500cst, which are the residual products of industrial oil refining after catalytic cracking. Among them, the content of asphaltene is particularly high, and there are many impurities such as vanadium, alumina and silicon oxide. Asphaltene is the main reason for the increase of oil residue and the deterioration of combustion. At the same time, asphaltene increases the incompatibility of fuel oil, resulting in the deposition of fuel oil in the storage tank and sedimentation tank, which is difficult to separate in the oil separator. The accumulation and condensation of asphaltene causes frequent blockage of filters in ship oil supply system, and the burnt out materials fall into the oil pan and mix with engine oil, which seriously affects the normal operation of diesel engine. Moreover, shipowners often complain that they buy fake inferior oil in the market. The use of these fuels not only increases the mechanical wear of the engine and affects the normal operation of the diesel engine, but also directly affects the consumption of fuel and engine oil.
